If this vessel's original Hull is below 25 and it moves into an obstruction, it cannot be targeted for the remainder of this tier except by a vessel within 3 spaces.
DESCRIPTION:
Lets you move 1 space after being attacked, during combat.
This card's effect occurs out of the normal chain of events. If multiple attacks have been declared, for example, the priority player decides which attacks resolve first. Due to the "finalize your move" rule any modifiers to an attack must be applied at the time it is declared; then other players (such as the target player) may respond.
The effect of "Back Off" is not in response to the declaration of an attack or the playing of another card but to damage calculation (the attacked vessel must suffer Hull damage first). Thus the resolution of an attack is AFTER the declaration of said attack.
The latest version of this card adds a new effect exclusive to light ships (original Hull below 25) in which the target is not targetable for the remainder of the tier if it moves into an obstruction by this card, unless other vessels are within 3 spaces.
